IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd, a
leading venue for tourism, exhibitions, and trade shows in Asia, has announced
its certification under the latest ISO 20121:2024 Event Sustainability
Management Systems standard.
Paul Kanjanapas, CEO of Bangkok Land
Co., Ltd notes that sustainability is not just a
policy for us — it is embedded in our daily operations and future vision. We
continue to drive sustainable practices forward and encourage customers to host
their events responsibly. Our commitment remains unwavering and is abided by
the ESG principles — environmental, social, and governance.”
“Our five event types — weddings, parties,
exhibitions, meetings, and concerts — are now officially certified under the
ISO 20121:2024 sustainable event management standard, making IMPACT the first
venue in Thailand to achieve certification across all five categories,” Paul
added.
The Center currently employs
over 1,300 full-time and nearly 400 part-time staff, with many residing in
Muang Thong Thani. Roles span venue coordinators, baristas, delivery drivers,
cleaners, interpreters, cooks, cashiers, and service personnel. IMPACT believes
the community is the lifeblood of the company; by creating foot traffic,
enhancing local vibrancy, and leveraging smart city models, the Center fosters
a mutually beneficial relationship with its neighbors. Hosting more than 1,000
events annually, IMPACT constantly recruits full-time and part-time staff,
prioritizing candidates from the local community. The company welcomes
individuals of all backgrounds who bring positive energy, professionalism, and
a strong fit with IMPACT’s culture.
In addition, IMPACT’s Green Meeting Package,
launched in October 2022 to minimize the environmental impact of events,
continues to gain momentum among environmentally conscious organizers and
clients. To date, the initiative has successfully hosted 98 green events, surpassing
its target of 91 and making up nearly 10% of the 1,000 MICE-related events held
at the venue annually.
The Center captivates over 10
million visitors annually, hosting a wide array of events—from meetings and
exhibitions to weddings and conventions. While these events generate
substantial single-use materials and general waste, including printed
registration items, marketing collateral, food, carpeting, and abandoned
exhibits, IMPACT is turning sustainability into action.
With ambitious diversion targets of 15% for food and 10% for non-food items, our procurement team has surpassed expectations, achieving an impressive 29.8% diversion rate. By sourcing biodegradable products from environmentally conscious local suppliers, IMPACT not only reduces its carbon footprints but also strengthens the green community.
The pink line monorail is now
fully operational and helps reduce traffic congestions as well as carbon
footprints during mega events namely THAIFEX Anuga Asia, Bangkok International
Motor Show, and Thailand International Motor Show.
IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd will continue its long-term sustainability journey to mitigate the environmental impact of the business events industry, believing that environmental responsibility, social impact, and successful event hosting can go hand in hand.
